Standard Terms for Purchase of Online Courses

In these Terms the definitions are:
The Conflict Training Company Limited referred to as “us”, “we”, or “Company”.
“Website” refers to the website, owned by The Conflict Training Company Ltd.

“Course”, “Courses” refer to eLearning courses offered via our website.

“you”, “purchaser’, “client” or “customer”, ‘learner’, ‘learners’ refer to the person or organisational representative purchasing any online courses on our website.

“Terms”, “Terms and Conditions” refer to all of the clauses and subclauses in this entire document.

“eLearning”, ‘online’ refer to the courses that can be purchased directly from our website.

Purchasing and Confirmation

Purchasing: To purchase online courses, you will need to register for an account with us via our website. If you already have an account, you can log in using your username and password.
Agreement: A legally binding agreement shall only come into force when we send you an order confirmation email. The confirmation email will provide you with a link and information to enable you to access the course.

Receipt invoice: An invoice receipt will be emailed to you along with the order confirmation.

Your information: To purchase any online courses, you will be asked to supply information needed to access the course. This may include a debit or credit card number, expiry date and billing address.
You agree that:
You have the legal right to use the debit or credit card and that it is in your name or in the organisation’s name you represent.
The information you supply is correct and accurate.
The company is not liable for any information submitted that is inaccurate, incomplete, or false.
Consumer protection: Under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, you have the right to cancel a course that has been confirmed by us, but not started, up to 7 days from the date and time of receiving our confirmation. If you have purchased a course and have accessed your account and started to use that course, then you shall have no right to cancel your purchase.
Cancellations: We reserve the right to refuse or subsequently cancel your order if an unauthorised or illegal transaction has occurred, or is suspected, or a payment has been declined by the card issuer.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel your order at any time for reasons including but not limited to, the availability of the course, errors regarding the fees for the course, or for other reasons.
Currency: Payment is accepted in pounds sterling only. Any costs involved in currency conversion or any other charges incurred to you in making a payment shall not be deducted from the amounts due to the company.
VAT: The prevailing VAT rate will be added to the prices quoted on the website.
Payment: Then you register for the course you will be asked to pay via Stripe

Accreditation and Certificate

Accreditation: Our courses are accredited by the Institute of Conflict Management,, who are responsible for setting standards In the prevention and management of aggression and conflict in the workplace. They are also accredited by The CPD Standards UK Office,, whose mission it is to support Continuous Professional Development training providers to deliver consistently high quality training.
Certification: A certificate will be immediately available for each learner to download when they have successfully completed the course assessment. Eighty percent of the assessment questions need to be answered successfully to complete the course.


Assignment: Any course purchased by you cannot be transferred or assigned to any other person.
Password and account activity: You agree not to disclose your password or give access to your account to any third party. You must notify us immediately if you become aware of any breach of security or unauthorised use of your password or account.
You are responsible for protecting the password used to access the course and for any activities or actions that take place using your password and/or account details.

Termination of Account

Accurate information: Failure to provide accurate information when creating your account will constitutes a breach of our Terms, which may result in immediate termination of your account.
A breach of Terms may mean we terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability. If the company breaches any of the Terms you have the right to terminate your account and request a refund.
Some Terms will stay in place after a termination to protect your rights and the rights of the company. These are Terms that would naturally stay in place such as data protection rules, disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.

Course Access Times

Access: Courses are available to complete for 180 days after the date our order confirmation has been emailed to you. The course access will expire when the course has been successfully completed or the 180-day period has elapsed, whichever is sooner.

Intellectual Property

Ownership: The Conflict Training Company remains the owner of the intellectual property of our current or previously hosted online courses, on our website. No part of all the materials, exercises or videos used may be reproduced, stored in a retrieval system, or transmitted in any form or by any means without the prior written permission of the company.
When a course has been purchased, we grant you a non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use all materials, exercises, and videos for the single purpose of completing the course.

Law and Jurisdiction

English law: These Terms are subject to English law and all parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of English courts in connection with any disputes.
The company may amend the Terms when required to comply with changes to the law or to correct any errors, without notice. Any updates or amendments shall be posted on our website


Course content: Our courses are designed to provide helpful advice. The courses are not meant to be used, or should be used, to replace organisational training and/or legal advice, to support the management of conflict and challenging situations. The company shall not be liable for any losses that may arise from providing this helpful advice.

Risk: The entire elearning content, provided directly or indirectly via our website or eLearning platform, is entered into entirely at your own risk, for which the company shall not be liable.

While every possible care is taken the Company offer no guarantees or warranties that the course will function uninterrupted, any errors will be amended, is free of viruses or other harmful elements or the course will meet your needs. No guarantees or warranties are offered that ensure the course is accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.

Limits of Liability

The total liability of the company in relations to these Terms and Conditions shall be limited to the fees received in connection with the relevant online course subject to the dispute.
In no circumstances shall the company, its directors, employees, or suppliers, be liable for any direct or indirect financial or intangible losses arising from (1) any inaccuracy or misleading information provided in the course or courses. (2) your ability to access, use, or inability to access the course or courses.
Any claims that are made must be registered with us no longer than 150 days after your order has been confirmed by us by email.

Events Outside our Control

The company shall not be responsible for any breach of its obligation arising from any Force Majeure occurrences including, but not exclusively; war, hostilities, trade restrictions, extreme natural events, epidemic or pandemic diseases.

Third Party Websites

Some of our courses contain links to third party websites to provide some additional helpful information to assist learning. The company have no control over third party websites and therefore accept no responsibility for any content or information contained on those websites.

Data Protection and Privacy

The company will process data you provide in line with our privacy policy, which is available on our website. You consent to the use of that data in line with our privacy policy. Your personal data will not be shared with any third party except for the financial organisation used for processing your purchase.

Technical Support

Course access: The company will endeavour to assist with supporting you to have access to the course where we have direct control and access over the software and system. We may offer advice at our discretion but cannot guarantee to resolve issues that originate from software or systems you or your organisation are using.

Course interruptions: Periods of downtime may be required to update and improve the operation of our courses or website and that technical support, or your course(s) would not be available during those times.

Course modifications: The company may have to make modifications and improvements from time to time to our online courses. You will have access to those modifications and changes within the 90 days your course access is active or until you have successfully completed the course, whichever is sooner.
